What are the requirements for obtaining a residence permit in Bulgaria for a pensioner?

The amount of the pension is not regulated, but the amount in a Bulgarian bank account must be equal to 12 minimum pensions according to Bulgarian legislation. According to Article 24, paragraph 1, item 10 of the Foreigners in the Republic of Bulgaria Act, the pensioner must have a place to live in Bulgaria: either owned or rented. This residence permit allows you to stay in the country for a long period of time.

Advantages of a residence permit in Bulgaria for a pensioner

• the possibility to stay in the country for one year: entering and leaving any number of times without obtaining a visa;
• issuing invitations to visit the Republic of Bulgaria to guests who own property;
• applying for Schengen visas for countries whose embassies are located in the Republic of Bulgaria;
• visiting a specific list of European countries without a visa;
• obtaining permanent residence or long-term residence if you have a temporary residence permit for 5 or more years, and then Bulgarian citizenship;

What is required to obtain a residence permit in Bulgaria for a pensioner?

• Obtaining a D visa on the basis of "pensioner" (the set of documents is almost the same as for obtaining a long-term residence permit);
• Obtaining a permit from the Migration Directorate to obtain a residence permit on the basis of "pensioner";
• Obtaining an identity card confirming the status of your residence permit;
